Comfort rules

A botanical garden is not just any green space. Here, we work to preserve and display vegetation to create an understanding of diversity and the importance of plants for all human life. Help us keep the garden clean and tidy so that everyone can enjoy it!

Plants

  • Do not pick flowers, seeds, fruits or vegetables. The public right does not apply in the garden.
  • Do not break twigs or damage the plants.
  • Do not climb the trees.
  • Do not move or damage plant labels.
  • Do not hang notes or other items on trees.
  • Do not walk in flower meadows or on open ground. Walk only in the corridors.

Trash, games and picnics

  • All trash must be put in the bins.
  • Do not play ball, football, frisbee or similar games in the garden.
  • Picnics are only permitted on the mowed lawns.
  • Disposable grills may not be used, nor may open fires be set up.
  • Tents and music systems may not be set up.

Bicycles and other vehicles

  • Do not cycle in the garden.
  • If you need to park your bike, do so in the bicycle stand.
  • Mopeds, motorcycles and cars are not allowed in the garden.

Photography and filming

  • Photography for private use is permitted in both the greenhouse and the garden, provided that neither plant material nor facilities are damaged.
  • Photography or filming in the garden for commercial use may only take place after written agreement with the garden, this applies both outdoors and in the greenhouses.

Dogs

  • Botan is the only botanical garden in the country that is open all year round for dogs, something we know is appreciated and which we would like to be able to continue with. We trust that the dog owners will respect our rules!
  • Dogs must be kept on a leash.
  • Do not let the dogs walk among the plants in lawns and flower beds and thus trample onion plants and other flowers.
  • Pick up after the dogs. Dog poo is not to be considered as fertilizer in flower beds and on lawns.

Toilets

There are two toilets by the greenhouses in the middle of the garden (at the cafe). One has a changing table and is accessible. These are open every day from 9 am to 6 pm. There is also a toilet inside the greenhouse. It is open Thursdays-Sundays from 11 am to 3 pm. NOTE: Due to the renovation, these toilets are closed until 2026.

There are also two toilets in the southern part of the garden. These are open Monday–Friday from 9:00–18:00.
