The succulent house has desert climate. The air is dry and the temperature fluctuates between 15 and 30 °C. Temperature variation over one day as well as over a year is large. On rare occasions, when rain falls in natural habitats, plants must be able to take up and store as much water as possible. Plants that are able to store water are called succulents. A common feature for such plants is their fleshy leaves or stems. Succulents are found in a wide range of plant families and the life strategy is an adaptation to life in dry areas.
